Rosh Hashanah
Rosh Hashanah, also called the Feast of Trumpets (Yom Teruah), is the first of the fall holidays. Rosh Hashanah means “head of the year” and is considered the anniversary of creation. This is why it is the start of the civil Hebrew calendar year. Since Rosh Hashanah memorializes creation, it is also a day we celebrate HaShem as King – King of all creation.

We will celebrate Rosh Hashanah together with an Erev Rosh Hashanah service on Sunday evening, September 25 and Tashlich on Monday afternoon, at Kleiner Park Pond.
Our Erev Rosh Hashanah service will be followed by a dessert oneg, so please bring a sweet snack to share! Apples, honey, and pomegranates are traditional.
Tashlich is a special time to kick off the 10 Days of Awe, where we remember the forgiveness that our Father graciously offers us. Please bring your own stone to throw into the water.
