Torah Scroll Fund

Total Goal: $10,000

The nation of Israel is likened to a Torah Scroll: Which is the most important letter in the Torah? The first? The last? The letters in the Ten Commandments? Actually, if any letter is missing or incomplete, the whole scroll is invalid for use. if just one letter is missing, the entire scroll is unkosher. So it is with Israel, we are all interdependent and equally important.

Here at The Bridge we have been using a manufactured scroll for the past several years when it was gifted to us. For a long time, we didn’t have a way to use it as we didn’t have enough people who could read from it. Now, we have a rotation of Hebrew readers who read from the scroll as part of our Torah services and it has become something we all look forward to.

However, as part of our effort to grow as a Messianic synagogue, we would like to purchase a kosher, full-size, hand-made Torah scroll. We are looking at a few different scrolls at the moment and have a connection with a Torah scroll dealer who is helping us find a good fit.

This scroll will cost us somewhere in the range of $8000-$12,000. When we have a scroll picked out, we will share pictures here, but in the meantime we are beginning to raise funds. We will also encourage all of our members to adopt a parsha – pay the fraction for one portion of the annual Torah reading cycle. The cost of this is $185 per portion.

If you would like to contribute to our Torah Scroll Fund, you can do that at our giving link below. Just click on “General Fund” and find “Torah Fund” in the drop-down menu.

May HaShem richly bless you for your generosity!
